We are urgently looking for ZTE VAS Engineer for one of our leading telecom clients in Malaysia. Please find the below JD and the details for your convenience.
Position Type : min 1 year contract (extendable) under Mindwave Solutions Sdn Bhd

High Level Job Description

1. Outage handling on service recovery for SMSC, RBT, VMSC, MMSC, WAP within MTTR of <2hours.
2. Perform inter-connect testing for new POI.
3. Coordinate all migration activities according OPS SOPP
4. Coordinate all activities involving vendors’ intervention in network.
5. Perform Health Check on all VAS nodes on regular basis.
6. Responsible for node acceptance for all new ZTE VAS platforms.
7. Be proactively involved in all Platform improvement activities.
8. To introduce and conduct technical training to team member and counterparts.
9. To ensure SMSC, RBT, VMSC, MMSC, WAP network availability at all time.
10. Perform test for new patches before implementing into productions.
11. To perform WO/PAR/TT.
12. Trouble shoots on HW/SW fault for SMSC, MMSC, WAP, RBT and VMS.
13. To perform and track on Preventive Maintenance on SMSC, MMSC, WAP, RBT and VMS Node.
14. To liaise with counterparts on design issue and improvement.
15. Efficient and consistent reporting on activities related to SMSC, MMSC, WAP, RBT and VMS to head of SRF.
16. To track, record and document on all info related to SMSC, MMSC, WAP, RBT and VMS.
17. Follow up with vendors on any related issue regarding SMSC, MMSC, WAP, RBT and VMS.
18. Complete the End to end project involved and maintain record for the same.
19. Support other department to improve system improvement.
20. Provide Network support operation and maintenance processes and their implementation.

Competencies:

1. Have working experience with ZTE vendor for more than 5 years (or as ZTE engineer as L2 or L3 at least for 5 years)
2. At least 4 years working experience in supporting ZTE's iVAS, RBT and VMS platforms
3. Strong knowledge in UNIX, ORACLE , SHELL SCRIPTING , SQL and NETWORKS.
4. Strong SS7,3GPP, SIGTRAN and TCP/IP knowledge
5. Good communication skills in English.
6. Good Presentation Skills.
7. Good Character
8. Must be able to lead and coach Engineers in term of troubleshooting and planning
9. Analytic thinking and must be able to think outside of the box.
