Transmission Design Engineer required to work based in Reading, Berkshire for a world-leading mobile telecommunications company.

As a Transmission Design Engineer you will be working within the Transmission Design team of a managed services organisation delivering into major mobile operators

• Perform high level and detailed design work for introduction of new equipment, features, functionality into the customer access transmission network
• Produce High Level and Low Level design documents
• Produce transmission planning guidelines, procedures and process documents as used by regional planning & deployment teams
• Significant work experience in telecoms / transmission design roles
• Excellent knowledge and experience in design/planning/deployment of IP/Ethernet transport solutions as used in mobile operator networks
• Excellent knowledge of transmission technologies used in 2G/3G mobile operator networks (Microwave Radio, SDH, ATM, Optical)
• Excellent knowledge of Microwave radio networks, with design/planning experience of modern Ethernet capable Microwave, such as Ericsson Minilink TN, Ceragon IP10/640, NSN, SIAE
• Excellent knowledge of Ethernet switching, MPLS networks, defining and configuring QoS
